PROJECT PROGRESS

Six legal aid pilot sites have been established in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret. Legal advice and assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) has been provided through the pilot projects in Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret. Legal advice has also been provided to IDPs through legal open days held in Eldoret and Nakuru. The National Protection Working Group has developed a draft National Policy on IDPs which has since been submitted to cabinet for discussion. The policy takes into account the legal assistance for IDPs.
 

OBJECTIVE

To provide legal counseling to all Kenyans affected and traumatized by the post election events.
