Two Disease Free Zones to be created (one in Coast and the other at Isiolo - Laikipia Complex).
Annual Target:
  • Contingency plan for eleven trade sensitive diseases developed.
  • Contracted professional services for Coastal zone in the following areas: - Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA).
  • Design of BioSafety Level 3 and civil works for construction of BSL3 laboratory at Kabete.
  • Design of rehabilitation works for foot and mouth disease(FMD) labratory at Embakasi.
  • Boundary survey of coast zone.Design and bill of quantities for veterinary disease control fence.
  • Carry out study of rangeland pasture and water resources in coastal zone.
 

OBJECTIVE

To improve the quality of livestock and products thereof in order to make Kenyan livestock products competitive and access high-value markets worldwide.
