The broad objective of the Eden Cradle of Humankind project is to position the Lake Turkana Basin as the renowned place for human origins internationally, while opening up the area for economic growth and poverty alleviation for the local communities. The project will be implemented in two phases. The first of phase will be a premier Science Park that will form the core of the story of human origins in the area. The second phase will involve the development of camp sites at the actual location where Kenya’s most famous collections have been found, on both the eastern and western sides of the lake.
