
Deputy Director, Economic and Macro
Mr. Timothy Waweru is an experienced Development Planner with demonstrated history of working with the government at both national and sub-national levels. He has over 18 years extensive experience in economic development planning, project management, public finance management, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, public investment planning, including financial and economic analysis and development of investment plans.
He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Population Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Sociology. Timothy is a member of the Economists Society of Kenya (ESK) and the Institute for Management of Information Systems (IMIS).
Mr. Waweru has worked as a Senior Economist in the State Department for Economic Planning at the National Treasury and Economic Planning. While in this post, he was involved in preparation of Medium-Term Plans (MTPs) and Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), preparation and provision of technical support to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in formulation of their Strategic Plans and other government policy and planning documents. This is in addition to supporting counties in the development of County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs).
Mr. Waweru is responsible for coordinating the implementation of Vision 2030 priority projects and programmes under the Economic Pillar sectors, tracking the macroeconomic indicators, monitoring and evaluation, preparation of progress reports, and stakeholders’ engagements in accelerating the achievement of the Vision 2030 goals and objectives.
