In the year 2008, the Government launched Kenya Vision 2030 as Kenya’s long-term development blueprint, aimed at transforming the country into an upper middle-income industrialized country offering a high quality of life to its citizens in a clean and secure environment by 2030. The blueprint is
implemented through successive five-year Medium-Term Plans. The first Medium Term Plan (MTP I) covered the period 2008-2012 and was succeeded by the second Medium Term Plan
(MTP II, 2013-2017). Both implemented policies, programmes, and projects envisioned in the Kenya Vision 2030. Currently, the Government is implementing the third Medium Term Plan
(MTP III 2018-2022).
